What would be - if using the cutting discs cut off grinding discs ?


Today we done some brief testing - using ours All in ONE super thin cutting disc cut off the grinding discs. see from the photo , the superthin cutting discs size is : 115x1x22.23mm and grinding discs size is 180x6x22.23mm.

We just cut off  5 times and the superthin cutting discs done a very good job-smooth cutting and nice hand feeling. Pls don't forgot that - the grinding discs hardness grade is " T "!!!

How to Judge the superthin cutting discs quality by Appearance?

How to Judge the superthin cutting discs quality by Appearance?

* Observe the surface - should be flat and smooth. also checking the backside ( the surface without labels ) to see if all the area with same color, if not means the abrasives density is different.
* Observe the edge - should be little bright.
* Checking the inner surface of the metal ring - if there are abrasives grain ? if so, then will have some problem when fixed to the angle grinder.

* Throw the disc to the ground, if heard crisp " bang", it's OK.

Anyway, this just the general judgement way about the superthin cutting discs performance.

Pay attention to the real thickness of the Super thin Cutting Discs!!!



Hi...Dear All. One question: Do you ever notice what is the real thickness of the extra thin cutting discs currently using? I guess mostly answer is " No...... ". 









































We checked many famous brand superthin cutting discs in the market and found most of them real thickness beyond much than which show in the labels. Some brands real thickness even reach 1.80mm though printing 1.00mm on the labels. 

Superthin cutting discs most advantages is fast & cooling cutting and save your work-pieces waste. If you using those thicker "superthin" discs, seems the discs lifespan is good, but your materials-waste increased much!!!

Testing Discs = 125x1x22.23mm     
Produce Time = Aug, 2013 and ( 2 month before the testing day )
Work-picec = Stainless Steel 304#    Dia = 10mm
Powertools Data:  Dewalter 125mm    230V     1100W   

Total Cut-Off No : 30 times
Total Cutting Time : 1'46"
Discs Dia after testing = 120.70mm
Discs Dia loss = 125.00-120.70=4.30mm
Time of each Cut-Off = 106" / 30 = 3.53 second

Coclusion from operator :  Smooth & easy cutting , good hand-feeling and low dust.

How to measure the cutting discs performance

BLUESHARK Abrasives Co.,Ltd manufacturer full-line cutting discs and cut off wheels in T41 ( flat type ) and T42 ( center depressed type ) to meet all of your cutting requirements.  Do you know how to measure the cutting discs performance? 

We will carry regular testing of our discs everyday and below is the general way for measure our cutting discs performance:

1) Measure the cutting discs diameter before testing ( D1 )

2) Measure & Calculate the work-piece surface area ( S )

3) Run the cutting discs cut-off the work-piece with a formulary number.

4) Measure the cutting discs diameter after testing ( D2 )

5) Calculate the G.Ratio index.


For example , the cutting discs diameter before cutting is 115.00mm and final diameter is 110.00mm after cut-off 30 times stainless steel rod in 12mm diameter, now we can calculate the G.Ratio like below:

* Cutting discs consume area =   π* (115/2)*(115/2) - π* (110/2)*(110/2)= π* (3306.25-3025)=883.125mm2

* Work-piece consume area = π *(12/2)* (12/2)* 30 = 3391.2mm2

* G.Ratio= 3391.2mm2/883.125mm2 = 3.84

The G.Ratio more bigger, means the cutting discs can do more cutting works. 

But G.Ratio is not the absolute index when measure the cutting discs performance, there are also others factors such like cutting speed, hand-feeling, vibration, etc to judge the comprehensive quality of cutting discs.
