The labels is very important for Abrasives discs as they carry much information especially the safe instruction on it. 
All the abrasives discs need labels and mainly below 2 kinds ~ hot pressed or sticker. normally the resin bonded cutting and grinding discs using hot pressed labels which pressed during the sharpness course. As this style label pressed to the discs' body before high temperature in the oven , so it's high requirements especially the color can't change after the high temperature processing.

The another style label is stickers which attaching to the disc surface, this style mostly using in the coated abrasives discs such like flap disc, flap wheels, etc. Normally they can be very bright color as no need high temperature processing and the color won't change since they printed.

There are also some other kinds "label" such like the directly screen-printing to the disc's body and mostly using on non reinforced cut off wheels.

 One of our Mexico customer sent us some samples of 180x6x22.23mm / 7x1/4x7/8 inch , those discs produced by one famous brand company in Mexico. We have done some testing and find the density really high and discs be very " Hard".  This style grinding discs little difference like us- normally our customers like the discs be little " SOFT" with very smooth & fast grinding ability and comfortable hand-feeling . This just the difference between EURO and Latin America market consume style.  

After study the samples, we have made some samples and the brief testing data as below.  We already sent the samples for our Mexico customer testing and got OK feedback.

Discs Weight Loss = 383.10g - 375.3g= 7.8g
Work-piece Weight Loss = 1792.80-1553.50=176.3g

G. Ratio = 176.3 / 7.8 = 22.6

S.G.Ratio = 176.3 / 10= 17.63g/min

Conclusion: High G.ration than ours normal standard also with the good hand-feelings.

How to measure grinding discs performance?

For supply stable performance abrasives discs to customers, we will carry regular testing of our grinding discs everyday and below is the general way for measure our grinding discs performance:

1) Measure the grinding discs and work-piece weight before testing ( DW1 , WW1 )

2) Run the grinding discs grind the work-piece in a formulary time.

3) Measure the grinding discs and work-piece weight after testing ( DW2 , WW2 )

4) Calculate the G.Ratio index.

G.Ratio = (WW1-WW2) / (DW1-DW2)

The G.Ratio more bigger, means the grinding discs can do more grinding works. 

But G.Ratio is not the absolute index when measure the grinding discs  performance, there are also others factors such like grinding speed, hand-feeling, vibration, etc to judge the comprehensive performance of grinding discs. 

For example: A grinding discs can remove 100g work-piece in 10 minutes and itself weight consume 10g, the G.ratio=100g/10g=10,  B grinding discs can remove 200g work-piece in 10 minutes but itself weight consume 25g, the G.weight=200g/25g=8.   If only said G.ratio, seems the A is better than B, but we must see that - the B ginding discs have higher working efficence and will save your working time and labor cost.
